Thursday, February 13th, 5:45-8PM –CANCELLED–
Due to inclement weather and road conditions, we have been informed by IFT that this class is cancelled. They are hoping to reschedule this class for some time in late March or early April
This class will focus on Union Self-Governance. We will:
-discuss the impact of Janus and recent post Janus protections
-learn about what it means to be a 501c5
-learn about how to stay in “good standing” with IFT and AFT
-discuss the importance of compliance, bylaws, and constitutions

This session will be all about student debt management. You will learn how to manage your student loan repayment plan and how to navigate the public service loan forgiveness program.
Thursday, April 16th, 5:45-8PM
At this session, we will be learning about collective bargaining strategies for when you are at the table with your employer. We will:
-learn the very basics of how to be a productive member of a collective bargaining team
-discuss the importance of internal team norms
-discuss the concept of having a bargaining platform
-engage in practice bargaining scenarios
Thursday May 21st, 5:45-8PM
At this session, we will talk about what an effective collective bargaining campaign looks like. We will:
-learn about the timelines and requirements to initiate a strike
-discuss ways to mobilize members
-discuss the importance of getting community support
-discuss strategies to put pressure on the board/admin
